Paul DeNoble
Paul began his maritime career on the North American Great Lakes aboard the Sail Training Vessel St. Lawrence II. He remained with the ship while attending high school and worked through the youth-oriented training program to become a permanent crew-member. Maintenance of the rigging during the off-season eventually led to a sail-making apprenticeship under master sail-maker Andy Soper in Kingston, Ontario.
His love of sailing ships brought him back to the sea with positions aboard active Tall Ships such as the “HMS” Rose, Tole Mour, Dennis Sullivan, and a long-term position as Bosun on the Europa. After attended nautical college, Paul attained a Captain’s Licence for sailing ships of 3000gt.
Eventually leaving a life on the water, Paul attended the International Boatbuilding Training College in Lowestoft, UK and assisted on several wooden boat restorations. He was able to hone his rigging skills on projects including the replica ships Nonsuch and Goteborg and the film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
After leading the project to rig the Tres Hombres, a sailing-cargo ship, he has continued his rigging career with several large-scale contracts.
